Washington's Crime Victims' Compensation Program is administered through the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. State law requires the Crime Victims' Compensation program to pay the costs of sexual-assault examinations when they are performed to gather evidence for possible prosecution. It also pays for health & mental health services when the victim has exhausted other insurance resources, both public and private, before using the benefits of the Crime Victim' Compensation Program.
