Kathleen Albin

M.A., LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

I work with adults who are dealing with the challenges of life, such as: relationship problems, life transitions (parenting, retirement, job changes, mid-life issues, divorce), grief and loss (particularly traumatic loss), and serious illnesses, such as cancer. Clients learn techniques for self-care, coping with grief and anxiety, and how to make changes that will support them in moving forward with their lives. In addition to my private practice, I run the Bereavement Program at Swedish/Edmonds, which includes groups for Traumatic Loss and Survivors of Suicide. I am a preferred provider for most major medical insurance plans.

I have worked with clients who are dealing with: terminal illness in themselves and loved ones; the chronic sorrow that accompanies losses such as caring for someone with Alzheimer's; all types of death, particularly sudden and traumatic deaths. There are many myths about grief in our society, and my experience and training allows me to support clients with compassion and in-depth knowledge of current trends in this important area.
