Deborah Moran

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

I work with individuals and couples regarding relationship problems dealing with communication, infidelity, intimacy, separation, divorce, and remarriage. Other problems that are commonly addressed are depression, sadness, worry, anxiety, life transitions, stress management, anger, grief and loss. I welcome all couples including GLBT, premarital, and those seeking marital/relationship enrichment counseling. In relationship issues, I am often consulted about communication problems which when left unresolved can lead to partners feeling distance, resentment, concern about the future of their relationship and ultimately very lonely. Learning specific skills can increase the effectiveness of your communication by improving your ability to assert your needs, avoid reoccurring verbal fights, and develop conflict resolution skills which can lead to more satisfying relationships. Perhaps life has brought you challenges that keep getting in the way of your everyday living and keep you feeling stuck. Whether you are dealing with relationship issues and/or life’s challenges, together we can find ways to help you find more satisfaction, control over your life, and begin living the life you have been waiting to live.

Since 2001, I have focused my practice on helping individuals and couples increase satisfaction in their most important relationships. From premarital couples wanting to work together on the challenges of planning a wedding and building a committed relationship, to disillusioned couples who struggle to find their connection, to couples who want to build upon the strengths in their relationship and awaken the passion they miss. I also enjoy working with individuals that for one reason or another find that they are needing support with their relationships whether that is with their intimate partner, family, best friend, or work relationships in individual counseling.

With my training and education in a system's perspective, I have found change can occur doing individual and/or couple's work. This is important as many people find it useful to have counseling support before, during and/or after problems arise in their relationships even if the partner is unwilling to go to counseling. If you are struggling with relationship issues, please be sure to find a practitioner that can support not only you but also the relationships that are most important to you.
