The Therapy Hour is a time and space, where you get to pay attention to yourself and listen to what matters most to you. You deserve this time and attention! Many different experiences and transitions have brought you to where you now stand. And you might ask yourself (to quote the Talking Heads), "How did I get here?" let's take some time to figure that out. Perhaps certain old "tapes" are no longer relevant. Maybe you could experience more self-compassion and joy. You could consciously change old triggers that keep you stuck in unfulfilling paths . Let's Spend time listening to you and what's important to you making space for this to manifest throughout your life and relationships.
With couples I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy, a systemic approach rooted in Attachment Theory. That is: we thrive in safe and secure intimate relationships built on a foundation of trust and authenticity. I will safely guide you to find the feelings deep inside (which often get buried or obscured) in service of using those feelings to more honestly share who you are. Sharing that information can deepen your bond. People can get stuck in a negative cycle of fear and anger that leaves them feeling disconnected and isolated. Let's work on changing that into a positive cycle of connection which is infinitely more compelling. Affairs are a symptom of relationships that have become distant and lonely. One person not knowing how to bridge that gap, looks to another for solace. The other partner, upon discovery, feels crushed and betrayed. This is a very painful and difficult situation, but it doesn't have to mean the End. I can help you understand, repair and discover a new path to feel safe and secure again.
I am non-judgmental and celebratory of the diversity of humanity, including the variety of gender and sexuality expression. I wish to serve couples , groups and individuals to create and maintain happy, gratifying, authentic relationships with self and other(s). Please call to inquire.
