Deborah Mauldin

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

My life's work has been devoted to helping raise healthy families. I provide individual, family, and group counseling to preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. My approach to therapy is practical, warm, and collaborative. Having been a therapist for over 30 years, I have a wealth of experience working with all age groups coping with issues that range from everyday family concerns and adjustments to severe distress and trauma. When indicated I collaborate with schools, MDs, and other clinicians. My early years were with the Child Guidance Centers (CGCOC.org) and the last 26 years I've been in private practice. I am a Preferred Provider for Premera, Lifewise, 1st Choice, Regence, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

I feel honored any time I am asked to help.... Families resolve conflicts, strengthen relationships, open communication, & raise healthy families. Parents navigate transitions - the birth of a child, the Terrible Twos, the turbulent teens, an empty nest .... Children learn how to express themselves respectfully and cope with feelings. Teens gain self acceptance, discover their natural strengths, and practice self-care. Young Adults find their path in life, deal with stress, or develop assertiveness. Adults heal life’s hurts and self-defeating patterns, and make lasting positive changes. Divorcing Families weather family changes with dignity and respect. Step Families find enjoyment and compassion for one another.

Specialties include: depression, grief & loss, fears & phobias, PTSD & trauma recovery, sexual and physical abuse, ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive & impulses control issues, Trichotillomania. Toddlers/preschoolers: bedtime routines, night terror, tantrums, attachment issues. Children: Separation Anxiety, Selective Mutism, homework issues, peer relationships, sibling conflicts. Teens and Young Adults: self-harm, suicidal thoughts, Anorexia, Bulimia & body image, defiance & truancy, shyness, identity questions, social & academic stress, assertiveness, and college admissions counseling. Parenting strategies, pregnancy, miscarriage, post-partum issues, adoption, child development, parental teamwork, parent-child relationships. Multi-generational family counseling, family-of-origin work.
