Steve Dill

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Are you, or someone you love, struggling with a pornography or sexual addiction? Do you feel overwhelmed with shame, fear, and/or guilt and unsure whom to trust or where to get help? If you are facing the hurt and pain of coming to terms with information of disclosure from a sexually addicted partner, or you are desperate to break free from pornography or other out-of-control sexual behaviors, know that confidential and professional help is available. I am a CSAT (Certified Sexual Addictions Therapist) candidate with International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), sexual addiction recovery. As an addictions specialist I help individuals, their partners and families recover from the trauma of addictive behavior. I utilize a proven task based recovery model that focuses on stopping addictive sexual behaviors, understand the roots of the problematic behavior, and address ways to live in healthy life-long recovery. Asking for help with your relationship, possibly addictive substances or behaviors often requires courage but with compassionate and professional help you can grow and your relationships can be restored.

Restoring your marriage or relationship after the experience of betrayal is a painful, complicated and often emotionally overwhelming task. IITAP has become the an international leader in establishing best practices in the treatment of men and women struggling with unwanted or out of control sexual behaviors and has led the way in changing partners treatment modality from one of codependency and co-addiction to that of trauma recovery. As an addictions professional I help families struggling with drug and alcohol problems by providing interventions, assessments, referrals to detox facilities, inpatient or outpatient treatment, follow them through discharge planning, crisis planning and relapse prevention as well as education on addiction within the family emotional system. Included within our individualized, confidential treatment plan are well researched assessments for preexisting conditions like trauma, neglect and codependency.

Facing your "issues" in some ways is to face your pain! So much compassion, tenderness and attachment is needed in order to simply keep from running, using the same old strategies that may have preserved your mind but not your "life". Keep searching and don't lose heart. Teens have always had a place in my practice and I enjoy helping families work together to gain a deeper understanding of their relationships, current stressors and ways to move past the struggles life brings. Developing a therapeutic alliance with your teen allows for both confidentiality and trust building tolerance for disclosure to parents and care givers. Becoming an adult is a stressful process and the battle between independence and dependence need not end on either end of the spectrum. Interdependence is possible
