Individuals, Couples, and Groups. I work with children to older adults. I work from an existential framework and am interested in supporting growth, resilience, and creating meaning. I use both creative art therapy and talk therapy in my practice. There is no need to be an artist at all as we focus on the process not the product in art therapy.I utilize the Gottman technique with couples, to help them come into their ideal relationship with shared meaning. Some areas of focus: abuse, anxiety, trauma, depression, identity, coming out, loss and grief, and end of life issues.
In art therapy we can visually explore ideas that transcend words, or, are difficult to verbalize. Knowledge of art or art making are not important, being open to the process in a different way is what is important.
I am a state recognized Supervisor for LMHC and ATR.
