Position/Job Description:

Community Psychiatric Clinic’s 24-hour staffed residential facilities provide a safe, stable environment in which chronically mentally ill adults can achieve personal goals and improved quality of life. Highly trained staff offers 24-hour supervision and care, opportunities to develop interpersonal, social, and daily living skills, symptom and medication management, pre-vocational skill building, and vocational training. When individuals are ready, we help them work toward achieving more independent living situations. The Residential Counselor facilitates group and individual activities, provides residents with training in activities of daily living and support their efforts towards recovery. CPC provides training and support towards developing the skills necessary for delivering these services, making this position an excellent growth opportunity for candidates with an interest in building their career in the provision of mental health services. The Residential Counselor assists the treatment team in providing residential services to residents, working with the residents’ families, community agencies, mental health treatment providers, and respective multidisciplinary treatment team to assess residents’ needs and develop and implement treatment plans. This position also provides services incorporating recovery principles, supporting clients in their ability to live, work and contribute to their community. We currently have available this position with variety shifts at CPC’s facilities: Residential Case Manager/Counselor: Full-time positions with day and swing shifts available (weekend availability and Developmental Disabilities population experience desired) at our Cascade Hall facility in Northgate and at our El Rey facility. Residential Counselor-On Call: At our Willows facility. The Willows provides transitional housing with on-site services for 15 homeless mothers or caregivers (and their children) in recovery from co-occurring mental illness and chemical dependency. On Call & Per Diem position offers experienced counselors an opportunity to broaden their experiences and develop additional clinical skills. Work in multiple residential settings with a variety of populations, including Chronically Mentally Ill adults (including veteranans) and young adults (18-25). On Call & Per Diem work offers staff tremendous flexibility by allowing you to select days and shifts you wish to work.

 

Qualification Requirements:

Job Requirements: BA/BS or equivalent in social work, counseling, or related field; Or combination of AA in related field and additional experience. Have or obtain a Washington state counselor registration, certification, or license. Have a valid Washington State Drivers License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have an active CPR/First Aid certification. A minimum of one year experience working with adults in a mental health setting. Experience with Developmentally disabled adults preferred. Any job offer will be contingent upon the results of an updated background investigation.
