I use a variety of methods in my interventions including talk therapy, eye movement-desensitization and restructuring (EMDR), relaxation/mindfulness training, trauma based cognitive behavioral therapy, and hypnotherapy to name a few. My services are designed to help people to identify goals and to access their internal strengths. My focus is working with teens from 12 to 19, families, couples, and individuals. I see clients for such issues as: Depression, anxiety, stress, trauma/PTSD, phobia's, intimacy, divorce, marriage, pre-marital counseling, communication, coping, family conflict, parenting, self-esteem, pornography/sex addiction, mood and personality disorders.
My supervisory approach is eclectic, solution focused, and real world based. As supervisor, I feel that my job is to start you on the path of being the best you can be. We will examine multiple modalities, examine how personal bias can enter into the therapeutic relationship, discuss the legalities and pit falls of counseling, and how to protect yourself while doing the best you can for your clients. As a supervisor it is my job to make sure that you are ready for private practice. I do this in a humanistic, fun, and caring way.
