I use an attachment oriented perspective in my work with clients and believe that change occurs within the context of a person’s attachments to others. I am trained in the use of multiple treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical (DBT), body scanning and mindfulness, visual imagery, EFT and a variety of other approaches to help people understand the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, bodily sensations and outward behaviors. I currently work with residential youth who are receiving behavioral rehabilitation services through the WA State Children's Administration. I have nearly 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in various settings, including community mental health, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health clinics. Clients and collegues have described me as having a quick wit and bringing humor, warmth and genuineness to my work with clients and supervisees. I specialize in work with children and adolescents.
i use a developmental approach to my work with supervisees, meeting them where they are as therapists and assisting them to growth and development to the next level. I support the supervisee in directing much of their supervision, allowing them to bring into meetings the current issues that they see as salient for supervision and allowing them to identify areas where growth is necessary.
