The Domestic Violence Program Spanish Speaking Therapist at Atlantic Street Center assists in carrying out the mission to empower Survivors, prevent relationship violence, and promote justice for victims of Domestic Violence and dating violence, their children, and our communities. Under the supervision of the DV Program Manager, the LMHCA/LCSW Therapist is responsible primarily for providing counseling and case management. The Therapist is the primary interface for access services such as peer/family counseling and support, screening, assessment, brief treatment, consultative services, education and engagement, linkages, outreach and advocacy. The Licensed Therapist will sit down one-on-one with victims of DV and dating violence, and their children to offer mental health therapy (based on a Trauma-Informed Care approach) to help them improve the quality of their lives. Spanish fluency is required.

 

Qualification Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS        

  • Master’s Degree in one of the Mental Health or Social Services sciences.
  • Must be registered or eligible to be registered with Washington State Department of Health as an LMHCA, LSWAIC or LMFTA.
  • Strong skills and knowledge base of clinical care standards.
  • Spanish fluency required.
  • Experience working with vulnerable youth/adult populations is preferred.  A dependable automobile with a valid driver’s license and current insurance coverage (state minimum) are required.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective counseling services.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of DSM 5.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices in a therapeutic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulations effecting the delivery of mental health services, including WAC, RCWs, King County policies and procedures and applicable ethical codes.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software a must.
  • Experience working with ETO or similar Electronic Records Management system software and databases preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources in the greater King County area.
  • Proven track record of providing services with the utmost of integrity and professionalism and assuming personal responsibility for one’s actions.
  • Must be able to access clients at all locations served by Atlantic Street Center and places frequented by clients.
  • Position requires driving your own vehicle on a daily basis to meet program needs.
