Sharon Sanborn

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Hypnotherapist and Art Therapist in private practice in Seattle, Washington, USA as well as a global Life and Relationship Coach for Boat Lovers and Landlubbers. As an avid boater, I specialize in helping people experience peace on the water and to navigate and fulfill life dreams. I provide a supportive, effective and empowering atmosphere for individuals and couples. Trained as an Counselor, Art Therapist and Hypnotherapist with over thirty years experience in the mental health and teaching fields, my work blends verbal and non-verbal approaches including the use of Art and Photo Therapy. I enjoy helping people to have freedom from anxiety, manage their thoughts, feelings and actions, have satisfying relationships and sexuality, clarity around gender and GLBTQ issues, sleeping well and success with your life dreams and ambitions. My goal is to offer you effective strategies to overcome problems and life patterns that are uncomfortable or ineffective. I assist people to identify what they want from life and relationships and to develop action plans with support to follow through with them. I also offer Voice dialogue Facilitation and courses on "Turn Dating Disappointment into Success for Gals", "Stop getting Triggered or Defensive: Chill Tools for Self-Control", "Communicate Effectively and Harmoniously: Listening and Speaking Skills" and "SoulCollage®". Check out www.SharonSanborn.com or contact me today!

As an Art, and Photo Therapist, I offer the opportunity to integrate basic art materials, photos and video-making in our work together. Creativity, self-expression and art-making with no "right" or "wrong" or expectations for a final product can increase self-awareness, build self-esteem, be calming, helpful, healing, fun and therapeutic. Getting things out on paper, for example, is a great way to move towards more understanding of a our thoughts and feelings and life situations, explore possible action steps and come to solutions and make decisions about your options.

I am trained as a Voice Dialogue Facilitator as well as being a Certified Hypnotherapist. I specialize in offering Hypnotherapy to help people sleep well, stop undesired habits such as cigarette smoking, over-eating, alcohol and drug use. Many people find Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis to be effective techniques for reducing anxiety and fears, improving performance of any behavior (such as speaking in public speaking) and find it helpful with recovery from medical procedures/surgeries and dealing successfully with chronic medical conditions and/or pain.
