THIRA Health seeks a full-time Primary Mental Health Therapist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills. They must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and be capable of delivering evidence-based counseling/treatment for eating disorders, anxiety disorders and depression in an intensive and fast-paced mental health treatment environment.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) framework to adult and adolescent females facing mood, anxiety and eating disorders
  • Deliver crisis intervention services such as assessing for suicide risk, creating safety plans, de-escalating dysregulated patients, and mediating conflicts between patients
  • Facilitate family therapy/involvement in treatment 
  • Join and contribute to the THIRA DBT Team by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members and attending weekly DBT Consultation Team Meeting
  • Collaborate with attending psychiatrist/Chief Medical Officer regarding treatment planning, assessing progress, and discharge planning
  • Create and update a behavioral treatment plan for each individual therapy patient
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete clinical documentation on time
  • Prepare comprehensive treatment summaries assessing progress in treatment and barriers to discharge, in support of Utilization Review department
  • Participate in scheduled Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training and actively strive to implement principles and practices of DBT in work with patients

Our Leadership: Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mehri Moore, brings with her over 35 years of experience working with women & girls which she applies in her care and guidance over each patient’s experience.  THIRA’s Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Kathryn Korslund, transitioned to THIRA after spending her career as research scientist at UW’s Behavioral Research & Therapy Clinics (BRTC) and working alongside Dr. Marsha Linehan on further developing and evaluating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  Our Chief Finance & Operations Officer, David Krekel-Zoppi, came to THIRA after nearly a decade at Virginia Mason Medical Center and more recently having managed business and operations with Dr. Mehri Moore at The Moore Center.  THIRA’s Medical Director, Dr. Tuesday Burns, brings a diverse array of clinical and academic experiences with specialty in issues related to women’s health, hormones, PMDD, menopause, and gender transitions.  Our Clinical Director, Sarah Skoterro, provides expertise in DBT, addictions, integrated care systems & family processes to serve our patients and support our clinical team.  Together, they form our robust team of passionate and skilled leaders to uphold our company mission.

Qualification Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • Masters in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field
  • Experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy from a behavioral orientation
  • Washington State Independent Licensure (PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LIACSW, LMHCA, LMFTA) or license-eligible if out-of-state
  • Crisis management experience required
