I provide online counseling sessions using My Google Meet account is fully HIPAA secure. Telephone sessions also available.
My clients are adults who are typically working to resolve lasting issues with childhood abuse, life transition issues (divorce/separation, recent move/job changes, kids leaving home, aging parents), grief and loss, depression/anxiety, and stress management. Clients are also often searching for an improved sense of well-being and trying to understand the underlying causes of unhealthy behavior. They are all working to create lives that reflect who they are and what they value. I utilize my training in the neurobiology of stress and trauma, cognitive behavioral therapy, therapeutic applications of yoga, and mindfulness to help you understand what is contributing to your distress, habits and sensitivities. By working together, you will develop new coping skills, make meaningful changes in your life and learn new ways of interacting with others. You can get out of negative patterns and establish new ones that leave you feeling more empowered and in control of your life choices!
For nearly 30 years I have helped individuals suffering from the long-term impact of childhood abuse learn effective ways of managing their emotions and bodily experiences, better ways of relating to others, and safe ways to process their traumatic experiences. Finding ways to feel safe and confident within your own body is a common concern for highly anxious and traumatized individuals. I have pursued years of training in somatic treatment approaches and also integrate specialized training in the use of yoga as a therapeutic tool.
