About me

Welcome! We all go through difficult seasons in life when we need extra support to face life’s challenges. There can be times when we lose track, lose ourselves, or have difficulty finding solutions to our difficulties that are effective, as well as honor our true, authentic selves. However, reaching out for help the first step in the journey towards regaining that authenticity and peace of mind, so thank you for contacting me and I look forward to working together!

My name is Adrienne Watkins and I have been working as a therapist since 2006. I received my Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health and School Counseling from Ball State University, which has been accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Alaska and I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the American School Counseling Association.

I primarily work with women, families, children and adolescents experiencing a broad range of life’s challenges. I am passionate about women’s issues and enjoy providing support and resources for women facing such issues as identity development, balancing motherhood with self-care, career and parenting concerns. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can find help in resolving personal, couples, or family issues.

My first priority is to fully understand the reasons you are seeking counseling and to get a clear idea of the challenges in which you are facing so that we may work together to develop a treatment plan that will fit your unique needs. I practice client-centered, brief and solution focused therapy in order to join my clients on the journey of self-discovery and to empower them to develop life long skills for handling life’s challenges.
