About me

Therapy is the gift we give ourselves when we humbly accept not needing to know it all. When we give permission to someone else to hold a safe and sacred space so that we may learn more about ourselves. It can be sticky and uncomfortable, but the reward is a better more intimate relationship with ourselves.

My name is Amber Williams and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have over ten years working in the field, with the bulk of work being in Forensic Psychology. For about 8 years I've worked with seriously mentally ill individuals involved in the criminal justice field. I understand how life can sometimes throw us curveballs and set us down a different track. I'm here to help support your maneuvering of that journey.

I offer a client-centered, non-judgmental approach and use skills drawn from motivational interviewing, CBT and DBT to set goals, confront unhealthy coping mechanisms and improve better communication with yourself and those around you. I'm passionate about women's issues, mood disorders, pregnancy and postpartum issues, anxiety, depression and survivors of domestic violence.

It takes courage to seek out support. If you're ready to start that journey, then I'm here to empower you.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Amber Williams. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Amber is excellent at what she does. She is a great listener and has really helped me navigate the issues that I've come to her with. The first therapist I met with wasn't a good match, and the second one didn't have any availability (which makes me wonder why I was matched with her in the first place). Third time was the charm. I've been seeing Amber for a few months now and feel like I've really made some progress. Thank you, Amber.

So far therapy with Amber has been great. I make my small accomplishments and im.proud of the progress I have made. Sometimes it's nice to have someone outside your normal circle to speak openly to. I will continue therapy for quite awhile im sure.

In short, Amber is amazing. She’s extremely easy to talk to and has amazing information on practically everything. I love how relatable she is to the things I’m going through and have gone through. I love how calm but also fun she is. Amber is very professional and a really great communicator. Therapy with her has been a blessing since the moment I was matched with her.

I'm so happy I matched with Amber. She's so supportive and really focuses on making me feel comfortable and encourages me to open up without pushing too hard. I trust the advice she has given me and her focus really seems to be to help me find my own answers, which I need, and has a very supportive encouragement toward reaching goals I have
