About me

Hello there, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I graduated from UCLA with a masters in social work in 1995. I have twenty plus years of experience as a licensed mental health therapist and 10 years of direct practice working in a variety of settings. I have worked with adults, children and families from diverse backgrounds. I have successfully helped clients with a range of problems including depression, anxiety, family problems, trauma, abuse, and addictions. I like to help teach clients skills that will help them to have success for the rest of their lives. I am a supportive and caring therapist and really try to help clients develop a deeper spiritual connection, a more confident sense of themselves and their strengths. I integrate Rogerian concepts to help foster a good therapeutic relationship. I use solution focused therapy, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapies. I am new to online counseling so we can explore that together.

I look forward to working with you!

During a very difficult and trying time in my life I decided to try online therapy. It’s been so incredibly helpful. My therapist genuinely listens, cares and is actively helping me work through my roadblocks. He’s responsive, thoughtful and very giving of his time. I truly believe this was the next step I needed to take to get back on my journey to happiness.

Cary has been extremely helpful. I appreciate his kind words. It's great how I could be feeling bad and reading his texts or having a phone session leaves me feeling hopeful. He gives suggestions as to why things could be the way they are and that helps me a lot. It gives me a chance to step back from my reality and see that maybe I’m going about it wrong. He set goals which help because I like checking things off a list. So it makes me feel accomplished.

He’s very understanding and kind. He has good advice that’s easy to follow, even for really complicated problems.
