About me

Hello, I am Connie Nichols. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.. I am mostly available Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. My educational background includes earning a bachelors degree with a major in psychology and a master's of science with a specialization in counselor education, and currently I am working on doctorate in psychology. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of populations in the realms of domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, substance abuse; readjustment counselor during which I worked with adolescents adjusting back to their communities upon release from residential facilities, hospital clinical supervisor, hospital clinical assessment coordinator, along with many additional positions, including but not limited to Military Family and Life Counselor.
I feel very fortunate to have worked with and along side of clients struggling with acute psychiatric diagnoses such as bipolar, schizophrenia, and personality disorders; couples working to build a healthier relationship, individuals working to remain drug and alcohol free, individuals working to ease the symptoms associated with adjusting to changes, depression, anxiety, psychosis, ADHD, lack of motivation and trauma, along with many additional diagnoses.
Specific interventions range depending on individuals needs, as I am trained in cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavioral, solution focused, exposure therapies. Also, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
In summary, I have worked with K-12th grade students as a private practitioner, with adult victims and offenders of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault, with elderly clients, and individuals of all ages who have PTSD. I believe therapy is an exchange of education and I feel honored to have obtained knowledge from each of the individuals I have had the opportunity to experience.

I appreciate having a therapist who allows me to get it all out on the table. She listens to me, and helps me when I don’t always understand. After every session I feel like huge weights have been lifted from my shoulders. I’m grateful for Ms. Nichols
