Ellen Ross Hodge, LMHC
About me
I work well with people trying to balance careers and personal life - especially those who work in technology, medicine, education, and social work. I am affirming and knowledgeable of both traditional (monogamous) and unique family structures - blended families, 'chosen' families, ENM, LGBTA+. I am also a 'counselor's counselor', welcoming therapists as clients.
In my practice, I have focused on how anxiety affects caring people, how the caregiver role is both necessary and undervalued in our society, and how to best help those who help others. I believe in developing a strong professional relationship with you. I want you to feel comfortable talking to me, asking questions, and giving positive or even negative feedback. Sometimes the best sessions start with someone telling me I'm wrong!
I am a counselor because I believe in counseling. I know what it's like to come to counseling for the first time, to worry that it'll hurt more, to worry that counseling will not be worth the time and money. I get it. And I use that experience to try to make your experience as comfortable and worthwhile as I can.
