About me

Greetings! My name is Erik Hans Larson, LICSW, ACSW. I am a licensed therapist (LICSW) in the State of Washington with 23 years of experience. I am Nationally Accredited, a member of the Academy of Clinical Social Workers (ACSW) and endorsed by the National Association of Social Workers in Washington DC. During the past 8 years, I worked in private practice and contracted with state agencies to provide in-home therapy to families and individuals impacted by the child welfare system. In a different part of my practice, I implemented cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology approaches to high functioning adults who are experiencing depression or anxiety. I specialize in utilizing somatic methods to treat individuals who are suffering from listlessness, general dissatisfaction, and bad habits. I provide a suite of “biohacking” techniques to facilitate physical, emotional and mental connectivity, better performance and overall well-being. Since 2015, I worked as a licensed private investigator, operated under my own agency, and facilitated unique services for private citizens, law firms, and businesses including background checks, missing person searches, and located hard to find beneficiary searches for missing heirs of estate planning cases. So, no case will surprise me! Not even yours!

Before going into private practice in 2015, my experience spans 15 years of government agency work involving intensive case-management, crisis intervention, care assessment, client advocacy and investigations of harm or abuse to adults and children. In 2012-2015, I worked in Adult Protective Services and as a clinical care assessor for vulnerable adults receiving state services in skilled nursing facilities. Prior to 2012, I worked as a social worker to support children in foster care and families affected by the child welfare system. I investigated allegations of child abuse and neglect and monitored licensed adult care homes. I found permanent homes for hard to place foster children and finalized their adoptions in court. In 2001-2006, I provided supervision, therapy and case management of adjudicated youth offenders, aged 12-16 years, in a secure residential therapeutic setting ensuring that security, safety and treatment standards were met.
I am a small business owner, successful therapy practitioner, with my own practice since 2015. I have been married for 23 years and have two teenage children. I reside in Newcastle, Washington.
I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and you should be proud of yourself for getting started!
