About me

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a licensed mental health counselor. I have been providing therapy services for seven years and also case managed as a social worker for three years. I graduated with a masters in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Chapman University in January of 2010. My experience consists of completing an internship at Good Samaritan Mental Health, child and family services, working with combat and sexually assaulted or abused veterans at the Veteran Affairs in addressing their traumas (I myself grew up as a military brat and served), providing social work to the aging, and I am currently practicing at a group practice part-time.

I believe healing comes from resolving core, deep rooted issues rather than just placing a band aid on the presenting wounds. I am trained to provide Accelerated Resolution Therapy. I also believe individual's thoughts can effect their emotions which results in how they may respond to certain situations therefore, I provide cognitive behavioral therapy as well as solution-focused therapy in helping clients navigate and weigh their options to make the best decision in moving forward in their lives. I also believe in the attachment theory and attachment styles which are developed from childhood and carried through adulthood but the wonderful thing is the attachment styles can be changed. Mindfulness is also often talked about in my sessions since I feel having the skills of being present is so important to fully enjoy the beauty of life.

Furthermore, I am bilingual and can speak Korean fluently. I am open to seeing clients struggling with being an adoptee, acculturation, immigration stressors, and who may be struggling with any multicultural issues. I am happy to help in breaking the stigma of mental health in cultures.

I look forward to walking with you through your therapeutic journey.
