About me

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State. I graduated with my MSW from the University of New England in 2008, and subsequently completed the licensure requirements and passed the national board to become an LICSW in 2011.

Over the last 13 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings primarily community mental health, school based work, indigenous tribal clinics, and private practice. In addition to client work, I have provided clinical supervision to master’s level candidates seeking to become LICSWs in Washington State. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including relationship issues, family stressors, perinatal mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma.

I consider myself to be a relational and intuitive therapist with a warmth that provides safety within the therapeutic relationship. With my diverse background, I adapt to my clients needs regarding modalities and treatments. Though my foundations include relational-cultural theory, trauma informed family systems, attachment-based therapy, narrative and solution focused approaches, and most recently my passion has been within the perinatal mental health field. I find it crucial as a white cis-woman working within cross racial therapeutic relationships to examine similarities and differences, and how that might influence the therapy process. Most importantly, I want to practice centering anti-racism, social justice, and culturally affirming healing.

I believe it takes incredible courage to begin working with a therapist and to take the first steps towards change and self-awareness. When you are ready, I would be honored to support and assist that process.

I've been reluctant to go to therapy. I spent most of my adolescent and teen years being over-medicated by "experts" who thought they knew me better than I knew myself. Jess has been incredibly receptive of everything I put on the table. She's been sweet and kind and supportive in all the best ways. She genuinely wants nothing but the best for her clients.
