About me

My name is Josh and I have been interested in counseling and psychology since I was 12 years old. I became more interested in counseling later in life when I visited my first counselor and was helped greatly with my own questions about myself and about my life. I am a believer in counseling, primarily because it has helped me so much, and also because I have seen the way it has helped those around me. Truly, the process of talk therapy is nothing more than spending time with someone who cares and can offer clarity, hope, and unconditional acceptance when we feel like we have none. One of my favorite tools to offer to others is that of mindfulness. Mindfulness is a great way for us to not only learn about the mind, it is an excellent way to feel more relief, freedom, and trust where it comes to our emotions. I enjoy helping people to see in ways that they could not before and to feel like they always have options, no matter the circumstance. I really look forward to helping you in any way that I can. In case you are interested, I have been trained in many modalities, including DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and PIT (Post Induction Therapy). I have greatly enjoyed learning from other therapists such as Dan Siegel MD, Peter Levine MD, Bessel VanDerKolk MD, Stephen Porges MD, Alan Shore PhD and Pia Melody, to name a few. I am looking forward to meeting you and joining you on your journey!

Josh’s thoughtfulness and calming demeanor are only surpassed by his in-depth knowledge on both the emotional and physiological sides of mental health. Josh cares about his patients and consistently works to not just comfort but solve problems.

Josh has really helped me through a challenging time where I've had to face several life transitions all at once. He helped me reconnect with my inner strength, worth, and resilience, which has given me so much confidence. He's a fantastic listener and taught me how to better listen to myself.
