About me

I am an active counselor offering compassionate care to those seeking support for personal change. My encounters with individuals include various techniques that I have cultivated over my twenty-five years of practice. I typically use a brief and effective model of therapy that identifies goals and barriers and steps toward a more satisfying life. In this difficult time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic social isolation, fear of exposure and illness adds a greater challenges than typical for most of us.
These encounters usually suit people who are feeling anxious about issues that are frustrating and often depressing. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy as well as Solution Focused techniques to assist client in identifying barriers and help them to point the way they believe will reduce their difficulty and then I support them in the process of exploring those areas and setting goals to achieve a more satisfying life.
My areas of experience include work with Veterans, couples, individuals with chronic disease including cancer, anger management issues, psychiatric rehabilitation needs, and I use mindfulness as a calming technique and my experience as a Chaplain. Currently in addition to private practiced I supervise other therapists in the field of mental health.
