Maria Schafer, LMHC
About me
I view the therapy process as a collaborative effort in which I have as much to learn from you as you do from me. I believe each person is unique and valuable with individual needs and strengths, deserving the best care available. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, and private practice. I have the most experience working with anxiety, grief, PTSD, and first responder issues. My primary modalities include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I take a supportive role in the therapeutic relationship to help you identify and access strengths in order to address life’s struggles and facilitate healing.
