About me

I am a therapist and licensed clinical social worker. I specialize in working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety/panic disorder, phobic fear, family relational challenges, and a variety of other issues. I have spent a number of years helping support people experiencing grief and loss, trauma, and life and coping skills acquisition. I also have extensive experience working with parents of children with disabilities, and professional caretakers. I utilize elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), solutions-focused, narrative, and experiential therapy, tailored to each clients needs and strengths.

My counseling style is focused on problem-solving, empowerment, empathy, and healing. I embrace all lifestyles and orientations. I am not a religious counselor, but I do incorporate spiritual support techniques, such as mindfulness skills and meditative interventions. I have taught meditation for over 25 years, focused on calming the busy western mindset in a user-friendly way. I respect all (or no) faiths, but I am particularly suited to clients who would like an intuitive counselor who's therapeutic orientation partners with their own spiritual practices or beliefs. I believe in every client's innate ability to shift and transform, given the right therapeutic, clinical, and energetic support to move forward. I look forward to meeting with you, thank you!

Rachel has been a great and supporting therapist. She intently listens and provides ways to help in any way. She is always checking up on me. I sometimes shut down and don't ask for help when crazy things are happening in my life. Exactly what I'm seeking therapy for. I felt a little push from Rachel and am ready to open up for needed help and support. Thank you Rachel!

Therapy has been a game changer in my life. It took me a while before I found someone who could truly help and accept me, make me feel like I can handle what is on my plate. Rachel is not afraid to put the mirror up to me and help me see my truth - sometimes it is easy and other times it can be heavy but always it is productive. Rachel also helps me equip myself with tools that increase my daily happiness, which in turn make it easier to pull from during times of crisis. I’m so grateful to have been matched with her and journeyed with her these past many months.

She is very insightful and patient. I really appreciate her knowledge and recommendations. She encourages me to try new ways of approaching a situation. I am glad she is there to help me see what i have had a hard time seeing, myself as a person who deserves to be here. Much mahalos Rachel.

I've gotten so much out of my time talking with Rachel! This was my first time doing any kind of therapy, so I was quite hesitant at first. Despite me taking some time to open up, she did such a great job to help me not feel so awkward about it. She was knowledgeable, empathetic, and validating of my perspective. I would 100% recommend her to others!

Incredibly attentive and remarkable expertise. She has a perspective on the world that is similar enough to mine to make me feel in the right company while having the expertise to challenge that perspective appropriately. Incredibly helpful and empowering.
