About me

It is not uncommon for us to feel stuck, ambivalent, or even apathetic. We can fall into unhealthy and unmanageable patterns. And it is very common for us to go through episodes of this, revisiting familiar, unwelcome emotions when we least expect it. Through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic relationship, I help clients navigate these feelings and patterns toward renewed vision and direction. Through approaches from cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, emotion focused therapy, and solutions-focused therapy, I support clients in developing realistic personal goals to recalibrate negative thoughts, identify and articulate emotions, and improve relationships to self and to others.

My practice is grounded in person-centered, humanistic, and psychodynamic theories. I believe that your individual, unique perspective shapes how you see and navigate the world. Our childhood experiences are often what create unconscious behaviors and beliefs that can create challenges in how we relate to ourselves and others as we get older. My time with clients is guided by my client’s unique position in and experience of the world, taking into account racial identity, sexual and gender identities, religion, political affiliations, economic status, and other important components of how we place ourselves in the world. I firmly believe that we are each worthy and deserved to live our authentic selves, and we inherently have the capacity to overcome struggles and challenges. I don’t have all of the answers; but together we will find better strategies for resilience.

I have particular experience and expertise working with LGBTQ+ clients, BIPOC clients, adolescents, and adults in a variety of areas including exploring racial identity and sexuality, particularly living with multiple identities; college and career planning; interpersonal relationships; anxiety; depression and mood; navigating life adjustments and transitions; and making health behavior changes. I completed my Master of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and I am independently licensed for clinical practice in Oregon and in Washington. And I have nearly a decade of experience working in community-based, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
