IAAOC = International Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors
A division of the American Counseling Association.

 

IAAP = International Association for Analytical Psychology
Founded in 1955 as the accrediting and regulatory organization for all professional analytical psychologists’ groups. The main objectives of the IAAP are to advance the understanding and utility of analytical psychology worldwide, and to ensure that the highest professional, scientific and ethical standards are maintained in the training and practice of analytical psychologists among its Member Groups.

 

IABMCP = International Academy of Behavioral Medicine Counseling and Psychotherapy, Inc.
Awards Certificates of Diplomate Status in Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, Psychotherapy and Chemical Dependency Counseling to those qualified professionals who voluntarily apply for them. IABMCP appears to be an offshoot of The Masterson Institute 

 

IAC = International Association for Counselling
Promote the well being of peoples worldwide by advancing relevant counselling practice, research and policy.

 

IACCP = International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology
The International Association for Cross-Cultural Psychology (IACCP) was founded in 1972 and has a membership of over 800 persons in more than 65 countries. The aims of the Association are to facilitate communication among persons interested in a diverse range of issues involving the intersection of culture and psychology. IACCP is affiliated with the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS).

 

IAEDP = International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals
Membership organization for physicians and therapists who treat patients with eating disorders. the IAEDP certifies professionals meeting specific criteria. Headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

 

IAMFC = The International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors
A division of the American Counseling Association.

 

IACA = International Association of Counselors & Therapists
The International Association of Counselors and Therapists is a premier association for holistic practitioners that provides a forum where members may exchange ideas, information, techniques and methodologies.
 

IBRT = International Board for Regression Therapy
The International Board for Regression Therapy has been founded as an independent examining and certifying board which is charged by its charter with the responsibility to set standards, evaluate the qualifications of practitioners and the quality of training programs, to issue documents of certification and promote the growth and development of the field. It should be noted that The International Board for Regression Therapy has no relationship with any local, state, or national body, and certification by IBRT does not convey certification, accreditation, or licensing for any profession by any governmental body. IBRT-certified therapists and training programs are responsible for whatever certification and/or licensing is required in their own jurisdictions. Nor does IBRT certification authorize therapists or training programs to engage in or teach any profession required to be licensed or otherwise approved by governmental bodies in their jurisdictions. 

 

ICEEFT = International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy

ICASSI = International Committee of Adlerian Summer Schools and Institutes

ICF = International Coach Federation
An organization that regulates and provides four levels of coach certification (life coach or personal coaching).

 

ICHS = International Community Health Services

IFSW = International Federation of Social Workers

IMC = Integrated Managed Care means the program under which a managed care organization provides:
(a) Physical health services funded by Medicaid; and

IOP = Intensive Out-Patient therapy--usually in group therapy. 

 

IPA = International Psychoanalytical Association

IPE = Individualized Plan for Employment provided by vocational rehabilitation counselors to help clients with disabilities achieve their employment goals.

 

IRB = Institutional Review Board 
An administrative body established to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects recruited to participate in research activities conducted under the auspices of the institution with which it is affiliated.

 

IRRT = Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy
Used with people who are experiencing PTSD symptoms, including nightmares, flashbacks, intrusive thoughts or hypervigilance, regardless of the trauma they have been through to cause the PTSD symptoms.

 

IRTAC = International Round Table for the Advancement of Counselling
Now incorporated as the International Association for Counselling [UK].

 

ISACS, Inc = Institute for the Scientific Advancement of Counseling Services
A non-profit organization that assists counseling agencies to embrace valid outcomes research as part of their mission.

 

ISMHO = International Society for Mental Health Online

ISSTD = International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation

ISTSS = International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies
The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies was founded in 1985.
