The Counseling Washington web site is committed to honoring the privacy of its visitors. The following summarizes our information gathering and dissemination practices.

We use Google Analytics in the management of this site. We do not sell, trade, exchange or otherwise make available any personally identifiable information to any other company or organization.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected from our counseling members on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy. We do not collect or retain email addresses of persons who contact us, except for our listed counselors, advertisers, and other business associates.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

CounselingWashington.com participates in the www.Google.com/analytics program which counts unique (first-time) visitors to our site. Your identity is not recorded, but when you revisit the site, the software recognizes you as someone who has been here before--and counts you as a visitor once again, but not as a unique visitor. The information gathered by Google.com/analytics is used to analyze traffic to the site.

Some of our general interest and article pages may display Google ads. [Ads are NOT displayed on our counselor or counselor locator service pages--which means that consumers searching for a counselor are not exposed to other advertising.] Google, as a third party vendor, uses a cookie to serve ads on CounselingWashington.com site. Google's use of the cookie enables it to display ads for you based on your visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the cookie by visiting the "Google ad and content network privacy policy."

This site contains several hundred links to external sites that we believe to be helpful and interesting.  Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
