I specialize in Psychotherapy for childhood abuse recovery, adult trauma, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, panic/anxiety, relationship issues, sexual healing, coordinating therapy with the client's chosen spiritual path. Certified EMDR Therapist, TFT DX training. My style is respectful, warmly personal, interactive, supportive of your chosen goals. Variety of traditional methods including Brief Solution Focus, Cognitive Behavioral, psychodynamic/in-depth emotional healing, and family of origin. Also more recent methods that work with the mind-body-spirit connection such as EMDR and Thought Field Therapy. I have experience assisting people in healing the limiting effects of posttraumatic stress (PTSD) due to adult trauma (eg. accident or natural disaster) or childhood neglect and abuse (physical, emotional, sexual). I have specialized in sexual healing for abuse survivors. I work with people to free themselves from the limitation of depression and anxiety, including panic attacks. I assist and support people to manage stress, and to move through transitions and grief and loss in healthy ways. I guide people to resolve relationship/couple issues and to create healthy, enjoyable relationships. I believe that each person has within, the resources to reach his or her chosen goals for self transformation.
I have experience guiding people to heal from and transform the limitations of past trauma, both childhood and adult trauma. Together we can identify what may be the source(s) of the limitations, and chose methods of treatment that address both the source of the issues, as well as practical skills that the person can use now to begin the process of feeling better. Similarly, with depression, anxiety, or relationship issues, together we can address the source of the issues in the sessions, as well as develop a set of skills that will enable a person to begin making some change between sessions. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and have specialized training in Thoughtfield Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral work, and Lifespan Integration, as well as other standard psychotherapy methods. I have experience working with adults, women and men, of various ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and spiritual paths,
In my 25 years of practice I have come to believe that each person has within the resources to heal, transform, and confidently direct her/his own life. I am open to your history and values so we might develop a supportive working relationship. Initially we would identify specific personal goals and changes you want to make. Because I am trained in a variety of therapy modalities, we can choose methods to match your personal goals and unique style and preferences. I respect your spiritual path and welcome the ways your spiritual practice supports your self-growth in therapy sessions. I am open to feedback, so our work together will be both comfortable and effective for you.
