I provide individual counseling within a confidential, collaborative and supportive relationship for problems including depression, anxiety, disordered eating and negative feelings about oneself. Issues such as relationship and family problems, work related stress, life transitions and "feeling stuck" are common concerns for which clients seek help. Counseling can give you the chance to identify what is troubling you and to develop different perspectives and coping strategies. I will work with you to challenge thoughts, feelings and behaviors that have a negative impact on you, and identify changes that can result in you feeling better about yourself and your life. I also have a special interest in working with clients who struggle with weight or overeating. Eating may feel "out of control" or compulsive, creating significant distress. Counseling can help you to normalize eating, give food less power, understand underlying emotional issues, and learn to cope with uncomfortable emotions in a healthier way. (See article on eating disorders.) I offer a compassionate, respectful, safe environment in which you can share your story, and explore and effect change that will make a positive difference.
