Shawnna Robinson

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

I provide online counseling sessions using Zoom.

I provide a safe and accepting space for clients to grow and heal in their relationship with self, others and their world.I focus on eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, bipolar, adoption, attachment, parenting and life transitions. I have been a therapist in high schools, eating disorder clinics and community mental health practices.  I work with individuals, couples and families. I use a mix of interventions based on the needs and goals of my clients.  By focusing on values and acceptance of life's issues, we can move forward towards our goals and securing a sense of authenticity with ourselves. My sessions are client focused and I partner with you to honor your voice and unique life path.

My experience is working with children, adolescents and families as well as individual adults.  I have been working with these populations for over 3 years and have had the opportunity to support them in eating disorder clinics, high schools and community mental health practices.  I have supported clients with body image issues, self-harm, suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, bipolar, grief and relationship issues. Group therapy has included eating disorders, grief and loss, anxiety, depression and LGBTQ+ support .  I have had sucess in connecting with teens and parents in family sessions and while facilitating multi-family groups.  My style is approachable, curious and accepting.  I am able to process with clients that may have been reluctant to therapy and my therapeutic relationships with them have been strong and ultimately, healing.  I have also been able to provide safe therapeutic spaces for clients who are experiencing eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar, borderline personality disorder and other mental health issues. I provide ways to listen and learn from your body to ensure the coping skills you use are effective and promote a sense of success.

My time with you will be focused on helping you to determine how to be authentic to yourself while focusing on your personal values and goals.  My expereince with eating disorders, teens, adoption, parenting and various mental health isuses brings a unique perspective into our session together.  I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Emotion Focused Family Therapy.  I have experience in Family Based Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.  I am currently obtaining my Certification in Eating Disorder Specialty (CEDS) and have worked as an intensive outpatient therapist for eating disorder clinics focusing on adults and adolescents.  My work includes a trauma focus and I strive to assist my clients to identify both internal and external resources that can support them on their paths.
