My name is Kara Rice, I have enjoyed a career in clinical social work, working in various settings with diverse populations. From nonprofit work to state government, then finally finding my passion providing mental health intervention to patients in multiple emergency departments throughout the South Sound.  But it wasn't until I joined Kaiser Permanente (formerly Group Health) in 2014 that I found my "home".  I am passionate about integrated health care, where health care and mental health are integrated as one.  I am experienced in direct patient care, clinical consultation, supervision, management and leadership.

I am interested in supervising the next generation of licensed social workers and mental health counselors.  I have a systems perspective in my work and I'm passionate about social justice and equality for all people who are not recognized as equal by society.  I'm interested in supporting, nurturing, cultivating and guiding you through your supervision in whatever areas you feel passionate about.  My goal is to support your growth and prepare you to pass the licensure exam.  

I deeply value diversity, collaboration and exploration.  I am an enthusiastic supervisor, driven to help you achieve your career goals and ultimately sit for the licensure exam.  From 2017-2018, I provided in-person private clinical supervision in both individual and group settings.  Now in 2023, I am interested in providing virtual or in-person individual clinical supervision.
