At Roll for Initiative Counseling, I help clients ease out of burnout and start feeling more comfortable engaging in the things that they enjoy. I teach communication strategies that lead to more positive relationships. I help clients discover how they can recharge and care for themselves more consistantly. We even address how they can enjoy Comic-con, or other similar events, by learning to prepare to be in groups of people and not get so overwhelmed that they have to leave the event and then be wiped out for days afterward. Our goal in therapy is to help clients make a life that fits them the best, not what fits society or those around them best. Some of the therapeutic focus might be around defining what is their “true self” and what is “masking” (the face that they put on so that they can blend into the world around them more effectively to protect themselves).
